Toyota Repair: 2002 Camry Altise V6, camry altise, light harness

Question
Hi Ted,
First off I would Like to Thank you in advance.
About two months ago, I received a notice from Toyota, stating that the car had been recalled for a electrical, light flickering problem.
So I booked the car in to the local Toyota dealer to have the problem fixed.
Although, my car had not experienced this problem at all.
They said they had put a new light harness thing on it and all should be ok.
Well bugger me, the radio flicks on and off, all the lights on the dash have gone off at one time or another, a wee bit scary when it happens at night.
I have had the car stall on me completely, in heavy traffic, when I turn the indicator on the clock light flicks to a dim in unison with the indicator, it even happened with the seat belt light flicking on and off as well. The car has also lost power when I have put on the brakes, killing everything for at least 30seconds. My car has been back four times now, and their technicians cannot find fault with it. Has this happened with anyone else that you have heard of? I have lost all faith with these reputable technicians, and still it is happening.
I feel they have completely ruined my car, which is my pride and joy. Now it is going to cost me alot of money to get it fixed now!
Please help me!
Thankyou again

Answer
I don't have a lot of information as far as recalls go for this model, it's not sold here in the US although it is similar to our Corolla model.  It seems to me they created this problem by whatever it is they did and are responsible to make this right. By the symptoms you are describing it seems that it could possibly be a charging system issue, alternator/battery related. Have them check the charging system or just tell them to undo the recall and restore your car to the original configuration, it's your car, you have a choice whether to have any recall done or not.
