Toyota Repair: 1988 toyota a/c, toyota 4x4 pickup, compressor clutch

I bought 1988 toyota 4x4 pickup. was told a/c worked but had to play with switch. where are switches located? 22refi 5 speed man

I'm not sure where the switch is but it should be by the temperature / vent/ recirc controls.
You may have a short in the wire if you have "to play with the switch".  Check the fuse box to see if there is an electrical connection problem there.  Check your A/C fuse to ensure you have power to the A/C compressor clutch.
