Toyota Repair: electrical S.O.S. ... --- ..., toyota 4runner sr5, yukon territory canada

Question
I have a 1993 Toyota 4Runner SR5 3.0 L V6 with 308,000 miles  With about 10,000 on a new engine.
i was in the mountains driving on a remote 4wheel drive trail(lots of sticks in the road and some water) ,stopped to hike a bit,got back and started the car, turned around and started driving home and i noticed my dash gauges were off, i replaced the fuse and it blew again randomly, so i replaced it again and tryed to make it blow to find the cause,it blew when i put it in reverse, replaced again and drove home without reverse, next morning try to diagnose it,now it the gauge fuse blows as soon as i turn the key to the on position and it kills power to the heater/blower fan,the power windows, sunroof,(the tail gate window still works),and causes my door buzzer to stay on even if the car is started if the door is open. This is my fifth day of inspecting wiring for shorts and checking relay's for visual damage(corrosion ect..)and im drawing blanks. please help!!! im from the states, stranded in the yukon territory, canada

Answer
Have you checked underneath for any wiring damage, to the neutral start switch or the wiring to the front differential ADD 4x4 switch, there are just too many things that can cause the gauge fuse to blow. Try disconnecting the fron differential ADD switch and see if the fuse still blows.
