ok when i step on the brake pedal my tail light goes out. we changed the bulb and checked the fuse. fuse is fine. But after changing the tail light now my blinker doesnt want to work...could it be the relay or something else. hope to hear from you soon...start moving today

Depends on my knowledge, I think it is a wiring probelm. 91 car is little old and rust and corroded wire could happen. I don't have the wiring diagram on my hand and I don't think it's common problem  of this model.
But one thing I guessing is could be the problem of damaging of the harness which routing near the tpo hindge of the hatchback, because the wiggling motion of the hatchback will damage the harness and isolation when it's getting old. Check the harness of the hatchback, see if there some ripped or broken harness.
