Toyota Repair: Gas leak in 1995 Toyota Corolla?, fuel, leak

Question
Help.
My son and wife tell me they smell gasolene in our basement, when the Toyota has been parked inside our drive in garage, adjacent to the basement.

I've pushed the car back out, and left it set on asphalt, but see no drips.  However, under the middle of the car where it was setting in the garage is a basketball sized damp spot, that smells of gas, but also has one or two drops of something beaded up in the middle of the damp spot (water?)

This is not water dripping from the airconditioner, though we have been using that daily in this hot month of June in Ohio.

What should I do? I depend on this car to commute 40 miles to work daily. (I have a motorcycle that on dry days I ride instead, and there is another newer car in the family, so I can get this 1995 corolla repaired.

What is it most likely?  There's been no accident or other trauma to the car... except that it sometimes doesn't want to turn over... possibly a starter going or an ingnition switch not closing.  But that's another gremlin I'll deal with later on...0

How much should I expect to spend to stop this gas leak? I think it's important cause there's a gas water heater just inside the basement door from where the car is parked, and I don't want to risk a fire/explosion, etc.  THANK YOU!

Answer
Thank you for all the details; this helps narrow down the possible causes.

The gas leak may be any of the joints in the fuel system.  It could be the fuel filter, fuel rail, pressure dampener, etc.  The gas may be running along a component and dripping in the middle of the vehicle (capillary action).
The hard start may be due to the gas line depressurizing due to the leak.  The fuel pump has to refill/recharge the fuel lines before the gas reaches the engine.
Place some WHITE paper under the car to try and narrow down the location of the leak.
While working on the fuel leak, be in a well ventilated area.

btw, I had a 95 Corolla DX wagon; loved that car.

Hope this helps.
