Toyota Repair: 88 Toyota clutch, toyota 4x4 pickup, clutch pedal

Question
I have an 88 Toyota 4x4 pickup w/4 cyl. The other day I was driving to work and when I pushed the clutch pedal...NOTHING!!! It felt good when I started it up and left home, but then there was no resistance at all. Is this a problem with the slave cylinder/master cylinder?

Answer
Check the clutch reservoir under the hood is it empty or low? If so then there is an external leak, probably the master cylinder, look on the unside under the dash at the rear of the cylinder for a leak, if necessary replace both the master and slave cylinders, if the fluid is not low then the cylinder may have an unternal problem where it's bypassing fluid inside. Check for a fluid leak at the flex hose on the firewall, it connects the steel line from the master cylinder to the slave cylinder, these have a tendency to leak as well.
