Toyota Repair: Repair dash cover, storage box, ashtray

Question
How do I repair the cover/flap for the in the center recess located below the dash of a 2004 Corolla? The hinges have broken and the flap will no longer stay in place.  It looks like the entire dash may have to be taken off, and that may only be worth it if one can obtain a new cover/flap.  Any ideas?

The whole storage box has to be replaced, it's available at the dealer, it's basically held in by two screws and plastic clips,the screws can be removed by pulling the shifter cover in the front off, remove the ashtray and remove two screws then it can be pulled out.
