Its 5 speed and when i come to a stop sign or any area where i have to stop and idle for 20 seconds or more the car will run on 3 cylinders and the check engine light comes on. The car will clear up after driving it a little bit and all cylinders are fine and the car will run great. what could the problem be please help me.

ANSWER: First thing to do is have the computer read for trouble codes, most autoparts stores like autozone, advance auto, kragen will do this at no charge, let me know the trouble code numbers and I'll go from there.

QUESTION: the codes are for random misfires and i replaced the spark plugs and they were terrible but the codes were p0300, p0301, p0420

Answer
It looks like a misfire on cylinder #1,(po301). The P0420 is a catalityc converter gailure code but it could be caused by the misfire si it should be addresses first. Toyota had issued a service bulletin that calls for replaement of the intake manifold gasket(EG046-07)for the 1ZZ-FE engine only if it has the 2ZZ-FE engine then the bulletin doesn't apply, let me know.
The part number is 17171–22060.
