Toyota Repair: 97 Landcruiser, antenna cable, power antenna

how do I replace the power antenna on my 97 Landcruiser.  I have it loose, but the antenna cable does not have an attachment plug near the ariel.  Do I need to remove the stereo and feed the cable through?

Yes that's coorect the cable cannot be disconnected at the antenna, the radio has to be removed and the antenna lead disconnected from it, what I usually do is cut the old wire near the antenna then attach the new wire to the old one with tape and pull it through, the glove box will probably need to be removed, once the cable is through the firewall take the old cable off and route the new cable over to the radio leaving a piece of the cable in
