Question
QUESTION: Hi, my son has a Toyota Celica GT ,manual transmission. The problem he is having being that after the car runs a few minutes the engine will die. He has replaced the distributor and has had most everything  else checked and someone told him it could be the computer system. Could you please tell me if this could possibly be the problem and also where the computer system for this would be located on the car. I appreciate any help you can offer and thanks in advance .

ANSWER: I need to know what year Celica it is and is the check engine light on while it's running, does the check engine light turn on when the key is on, engine off? By"it runs a few minutes" do you mean it starts up and idles and then die or is the car driveable and then dies while driving? There are many things that can cause this so I need a little more information to try to narrow down the cause, has anything else been replaced besides the distributor.

QUESTION: I don't have the information above but if it will help , the engine is 2.2 liter ,4 cylinder. Any help you can offer is  appreciated as my son don't know what to try next. Also could you please inform me as to where the fuel relay switch is on this vehicle.

Answer
It seems to be the 5SF-E engine, this engine has an external coi/igniter module, a common problem for intermittent stalling used to be either the distributor or the igniter, I would recommend replacing the coil /igniter since the distributor was already replaced, they are usually available at salvage yards for a reasonable price.
