Toyota Repair: 92 Toyota 4 Runner ignition switch, toyota 4 runner, lock cylinder

Question
I am replacing a 92 Toyota 4 Runner ignition switch. What tools and step are required for this task?

Answer
If your'e replacing the ignition lock cylinder you will need to remove the covers around the steering column, the lock cylinder can be removed by putting the key in the "ACC" positon then locate the release pin on the bottom of the lock housing, there is a small hole that has the pin in it, with a small punch or srewdriver push the pin in and pull the lock cylinder out, the new lock will come with a key made for the lock, it will not work in the doors etc, to make your existing key work in all locks it will have to be rekeyed by a locksmith before installation.
