Toyota Repair: 98 toyota wont start, jumper wire, positive cable

Question
battery terminal loose, and had corrision.  fixed that, but car will not start even when jumped.  all lights etc work.., but starter will not even click.  thanks

Answer
Check the positive cable between the battery and the starter, make sure it's tight at the starter connection. Remove the solenoid connector from the starter and run a jumper wire from it to the positive side of the battery, the engine should crank, if not replace the starter.Make sure the key is in the OFF position and it's out of gear when doing this test.
