Toyota Repair: ignition on 93 camry, negative battery cable, wd 40

Hello, the ignition on my 93 camry will not go past acc
from start. tried all 3 keys. it turns on &starts ok.once in mabe 6 or 8 tries it worked now if i disconnect the neg.batt.cable it works.can you help. if it is the ignition
how do i replace it?   thanks

Albert,
If I knew the miles it would help me.
The switch is going bad, you can spray some wd-40 in there but I
would change it as soon as possible. If you don't it will fail completely when your out somewhere away from home. They are easy to replace and inexpensive at local car parts store.

Instead of me typing out a few hundred words here get a copy
of a Haynes repair manual (local library or parts store)
#92006 pages 12-6 and 12-7. Make sure you remove the negative battery cable first because you will be working by the air bag.
