Toyota Repair: Toyota Heads 6 cylinder, exhaust ports, combustion chamber

QUESTION: Hi,as you can tell I'm a big toyota fan have own about 6 of them in my life,and redone 2 heads 1 22r and 1 22re,but this 6 cylinder got me good took the heads off had them redone valve job,etc.I put them back on did the correct torking sequence,started it up and still white smoke coming out of tail pipe and it get hot where did i go wrong? I bought some used heads one redone other needs done is this the way to go by having the other head done and starting all over alot of tme in this job,what do u think,truck is a 92 with 156,000 and it did have the heads retorked when the recall came out on them what do u think?

ANSWER: How long did you let the engine run after the repair, sometimes it can take up to an hour for the old coolant to clear out of the exhaust system and the steam to stop.

QUESTION: I let it run for about 30 to 45 min.at different times,and it started to get hot after I drove it once.Guy who done my heads at the machine shop said they was good to go.

The coolant has to come in somwhere, it's entering the combustion chamber or through a crack in the intake or exhaust ports, the best way to verify this is to do a simple block test but there is also a possibility that the headgaskets were mixed up left to right, do you think this is possible?
