Toyota Repair: 2000 toy. corolla se--smell burning, power steering fluid leak, power steering rack

Question
I have a 2000 toyota corolla se with about 100K  miles. I am hearing a slight whining , buzzing noise, with a slight gurggle, but when I turn the wheel to the left or to the right, it goes away mostly. I am also smelling an odor like burning oil when i bring the car to a stop.

Answer
It sounds like there is a power steering fluid leak, check the reservoir under the hood to see if it's low, if it is there is a leak in the system, it may be the power steering rack or the power steering pump. If the power steering is not leaking then check for an engine or transmission oil leak.
