how do you check the codes?

Check engine light codes can be retteived this way: Under the hood locate the diagnostic check connector, open the cover, there is a schematic diagram identifying the terminals, put a small jumper wire between the terminals TE1+E1, turn on the ignition, the check engine light will flash, count the number of flashes, it will be a two digit code number, a code 25 would be two flashes followed by five with a short pause inbetween, there may be more codes, each code is seperated by a longer pause.
