Land Rover Repair: overheating, discovery 98, light gauge

 Discovery 98 i am driving it after 20 minutes stop on a traffic light gauge start going up i took thermostat off and left it direct without it prior a problem also i got 7 month ago now with or without thermostat gauge still climbing after stoping on a traffic light the hose that goes from radiator to thermostat gets so hard it seems that is about to blow...Thanks!

First try to steam clean the cooler! It's a very oftenly fault. Between the cells it can be very dirty, and the air cannot go through.
Then check the ventillator which driven by the belt, when the coolant is hot. Stop the engine and try to rotate the fan. If its very easy, absolutely no resistant, it's faulty.

But I think the problem will be the cylinder head. If you have luck it's only the gasket burnt out, but if thats the problem you shoould flat the surface with workshop!
If you aren't lucky, the cylinder head can be slit at any valve. So it can push some pressure (by compression and burning) to the coolant.
This fault in fortunate case can be welded.

I think you should check the flat surface, and the pressure test of the cyilinder head. (by workshop, not at home!)
