Toyota Repair: Celica sputtering problem, coolant temp, spark plug wire

Question
Have a 92 Celica GT 2.2 auto. Had an overheat due to leak in water hose. Fixed hose. During fix, broke a Start Injector Time Switch - replaced. Also broke a coolant temp sensor - replaced. (difficult time getting the hose lose). Had a spark plug wire burnt - replaced and checked all 4 plugs - ok. Put all back together, started and engine runs smooth even smooth up to 3000 rpm sitting still. Now the problem, once I drive down the road, it sputters and loses power anytime I accelerate or start up an incline. Could I have missed a vacuum hose or something when putting all together? I've looked, everything seems fine under the hood. Engine runs smooth except when accelerating and under load. Thank you in Advance..

I received this answer from Tim, but he just left for vacation.

You have a misfire on one of the ignition wires, boots, or spark plugs. All the wires and boots must be inspected very close for cracks. The way to find the culprit is with a high tension flash tester that you lay on one wire at a time and watch the flash difference.

Question, if the wires are the problem, wouldn't it sputter when I ran it up to 3000 rpm in park?

Thank you in advance.

Answer
Sometimes engines will misfire only under load, when revving the engine up to 3000 rpm out of gear there is very little demand for power from the engine, when an additional load is placed on the engine such as accelerating or going uphill things can break down, usually the plug wires, distributor cap/rotor, I would recommend checking those very carefully or just go ahead and replace them, while the distributor cap is off remove the plastic coil cover and check the coil for cracks or burned spots.
