Toyota Repair: Camry 1998 (220,000 kms) Auto, intermittent problem, auto check

"Check engine lite came on with rough idle.  This was an intermittent
problem.  It usually appeared after driving for 30 min.  My mechanic
identified code 106 (I believe), misfire on cylinder #6.  He diagnosed
it as needing a new ECM.  He replaced the ECM.  The problem returned
within 2 days.  He feels that the new ECM may be faulty.  Any thoughts?"  Sorry i forgot to include the basic info in the subject line in my earlier submission

I doubt if the original ECM was the problem, it's usually the last resort after everything else has been tried, has anything been done already other than the ecm replacement?
