Toyota Repair: One more question on my Corolla, 2007 toyota corolla, toyota corolla

Question
QUESTION: Hello:

I have a 2007 Toyota Corolla

What size wrench or socket do I use to remove the drain plug  when changing oil?

Also, 10-30 grade oil OK? I live in San Francisco Bay Area where it does not get very cold...

ANSWER: The drain plug is 14mm in size, a 9/16" wrench/socket will also work, 10w-30 is a good choice.

QUESTION: Hello:

You helped me out with the drain plug issue. I have another issue. I hope you can help me with this one as well. Just a few days before changing my oil, I noticed that "maintenance Req." light came on. The odometer just turned 11,500.

What type of maintenance is suggested at this mile? After taking care of whatever is required, how do I turn off this light?

I saw elsewhere the following instructions for an older Corolla. Are they valid for a 2007 as well? Instructions are: "with the car key on ACC, set your odometer on mileage(not trip a or b) then turn key off. then hold the button that switches from odo and trip, then turn the key back to acc. while you are holding it down you will notice the maintenance light blink and go out. and then you are done."

Thank you.

Answer
At that mileage the only thing that should be done is to change the oil/filter and rotate the tires. To reset the light turn the key on, with the display on trip A, push and hold the reset button and turn the switch off and back on, the display should show blinking lines keep holding the button umtil the lines disapear and the numbers come back, if that won't reset try starting out with the odo display on odo.
