Toyota Repair: 99 4runner 3.4 misfire, plenum chamber, autoparts store

Question
im getting po302 misfire cylinder 2 detected...ive changed plug wires, plugs, cleaned maf sensor, switched coil packs around to see if code would follow, it didn't...i checked the 3 female coil connecters, were all like 13.67..on cylinders 1,3,5.checked for spark on #2 great spark..i can only get to the 3 injectors on the 1,3,5 side as to i would have to take off the plenum to get to the other three is this right? i haven't did this yet because i haven't had the time, and have been hoping to rule the injector out...im at a lose, heres a few things i want to check next TPS,EGR,cats, wiring going to #2 injector...would these things cause just one cylinder to misfire or throw its own code...oh yea i have an innova scan tool with DTC freeze frame and live data if that helps...i just got it and don't know how to interpret all of it...can post if needed...sorry if this was to long just wanted to give you as much info as possible because i know that its hard to diagnose without actually seeing it....thanks again

Answer
There are two things that should be checked next and think you will find the problem, first check the engine compression, if the compression on #2 is within 10 psi or so of the other cylinders then concentrate on the injector, injector failures are not uncommon on these engines,it may be possible to listen to the injector with a stethoscope with a thin probe, it should make a clicking noise. If necessary remove the plenum chamber and connect as small test light to the injector, they are available at the autoparts store, the light should flash when cranking the engine, if it does then the computer is sending the on/off signal and the injector is the problem, if it doesn't then it's either the wiring or the ECM which would be unusual bot possible, good luck and let me know what happens.
