Toyota Repair: Toyota engine replacement, toyota engine, totota

Question
I have a 1994 Totota corolla with a damaged 7afe 1.8 engine with 225000 miles I have found a 1997 corolla with a 1.6 engine with 160000 miles. Both are auto can I replace the 1.8 with the 1.6 with out going crazy.

Answer
Chuck,
The answer is NO! The only way you should swap an engine
is if it is the same engine and same year with Toyotas and probably
other vehicles. In this day and age all cars have ECM/PCM's (computers). The computers are unique to that engine and all sensors.

To be totally blunt; It's not worth the money and labor to do a swap with a 1994 Corolla with 225K miles. That vehicle with a good engine
is not worth much, even though your probably in love with it.
There are too many other issues that will drain your wallet. Besides
working on Toyota's I know the value of them very well! Your better
off cutting your loss's and finding a good running Corolla or Camry for a reasonable price. Good luck.
