Mercedes Benz repair: mercedes igin removal, locking pin, steering wheel


Question
I have a 2002 190E and someone tried to steal it they jammed something in the ign.and broke it off now my key wont go in so i need to take the ign out and get a new one but i dont know how to get it out they ripped the bottom of the dash off so i would like to do this without tearing anything else up can u help me? do i need some special tool or what do i need to do Thanks

just pry out the outer ring black one. You will have to remove the steering wheel, and the instrument panel cuz there is a wire in there.Insert key into position "I" then pull out combination switch. Loosen bolt around steering lock body. Then depress the locking pin while extracting the ignition lock. It is pressty complicated but youll get it.
