Question
hi im Volvo mechanic i have quick question for you my friend i hope you can help me out. im trying to fix the problem on Toyota camry le 1996 4 cylinder  120000 miles at times the car will die out when coming to stop or at  idle
also it will hesitate like no power on acceleration at times no check engine light ?im thinking is the egr valve but at Toyota dealer they to replace all parts egr valve and vacuum valve and modulator do i need all 3 they are expensive  im thinking i just the egr valve and problems is not happening all time thank you

Answer
This is a common problem, remove the throttle body and remove the idle air control valve from the throttle body, clean the inside of the throttle body and either replace or clean the IAC valve, at this mileage I would recommend replacing it, any egr malfunction would turn the check engine light on, that's not the problem. While doing the above make sure that the rubber air intake hose has no cracks in it as well.
