QUESTION: Dear Ted Ritter,

One of our Customer have Toyota Land Cruiser (Model VDJ200). He lost one of the Smart key. To protect the vehicle from theft the customer would like to change the system with new one.
What are the replacing parts and, please tell me the producer.

ANSWER: To program new smart keys requires using toyota's techstream scantool, do you have this tool available?

To completely change the system to a new configuration the following parts have to be replaced,it's the same as if all keys are lost: replace the immobilizer code ecu,smart key ecu and the steering lock ecu then register the smart key per factory manual instructions, I don't have any information using anything except the toyota techstream laptop computer for doing this.
