Toyota Repair: dash light will not go out, dash light, toyota dealer

Question
I had a dash light go on for a burned out light. The light that was out was
the
extra brake light in the back window. The bulb was replaced. OK now here is
the
deal when the car is first started the light is out, as soon as you hit the brake
the light comes on again and stays on.I talked to some people and I double
checked, all the lights. I read on one site that all the bulbs have to be Toyota
bulbs I bought the bulb at Napa and I had them double ck to be sure it was
the
right size. I went right to the Toyota dealer and he said that was BS that they
use
Napa bulbs all the time.I also checked the wiring for a rub and found
nothing. Is
it possible that the Napa bulb draws more current and triggers the light? Or
have you ever heard of this problem before. Any suggestions would be
greatly
appreciated.

Answer
Tom,

First of all any brand bulb will work !!!
I have been getting a lot of questions just like this
lately.
You have a bulb out or connection bad.
Stand at back of car while someone hits the brake pedal
watch all lights on car, trunk, and cyclops in back window.
(look at every light closely, each light  must have a matching
light on other side.)
Check all lights including back up lights.

let me know
