Toyota Repair: DTC P0171, maf sensor, p0171

Question
I have a 2000 corola with 85000 miles on it.  I got the DTC of P0171.  I cleaned the MAF sensor and the light went off for a week and came back on.  The code is still the same the scanner says there is a fault with O2 sensor #2.  Since the light went off after cleaning the MAF sensor is should replacing the sensor fix the problem or should i replace the O2 sensor???

Answer
I would recommend replacing the MAF sensor to take care of the 171 code, at the same time the inside of the throttle body should be cleaned to remove any carbon builtup, unless there is another specific code relating to an O2 sensor it should not be replaced, if the po171 is the only code then just replace the MAF and clean the throttle body, also be sure there are no vacuum hoses off.
