Toyota Repair: door mirrors, mirror system, chronic problems

Question
I have a '05 Sequoia and I'm having problems with the operation of the door mirrors. Sometimes they work as advertised, up, down, left and right. Sometimes they only work left and right. Sometimes not at all. The rear solenoid for the rear window was replaced too.
But the problems with the door mirrors has been since I bought the vehicle.
I'd like to change out the door solenoids myself but I'm looking for some advice before that happens. Is there anyone else experiencing the same problems?

Answer
Do you know if it has the "driving memory" for the mirrors feature, if not then the most likely problem is an intermittent mirror control switch malfunction, if it does then there is a small computer involed, it's called the left door control ecu, there may be a problem with it, the switch is not expensive so I would recommend replacing it then see if it helps, I know of no chronic problems with the remote mirror system and toyota has no service bulletins regarding this.
