Toyota Repair: engine overheating, 1994 toyota paseo, electric cooling fan

Question
i have a 1994 toyota paseo that is overheating, i have replaced the thermostat, flushed the radiator, and checked for water circulation. if i turn the heater on to full the engine starts to cool down. just wondering if you had any ideas what i could do next. thank you

Answer
First check to see that the electric cooling fan turns on when the engine gets to normal temperature, if it does then there are a couple more possible causes, just flushing the radiator may not be enough, it may have to be removed and taken to a radiator shop so they can check it to see if the core may be restricted. If it's none of those then I would suspect a possible headgasket problem so I would recommend having it tested for that.
