Toyota Repair: Engine Overhaul, connecting rod bearings, main bearing

Question
Toyota 1988 Pick-Up. Replaced engine with completely new heads after having blown them. New timing chain gaskets, etc. Now the engine has a knock like something inside the engine may be hitting the engine housing from the bottom of the engine somewhere I believe. The knocking occurs at all times and worsens with incressed engine speeds. To bad to even attempt to drive or even let idle

Answer
Knocking noises are always serious, I'm not sure without hearing the noise myself but it sounds like there is a problem with one of the connecting rod bearings or main bearing, needless to say the engine has be disassembled on the bottom end to check which rod or main bearing is the problem, it is also possible that the wrong size bearings were installed, for instance if the crankshaft was previously ground to undersize bearings and standard bearings were installed.
