Toyota Repair: 2006 sequoia, model toyotas, daytime running lights

Question
Intermittent problem whereby all dash warning lights except engine light flash at different interval. Since this started there is no power to front passenger seat. Also no power to ac/heater unit. Display is lite up but pushing buttons does nothing. Dealer spent several hours looking for problem but no luck. Driving lights will sometimes come on when vehicle ignition is in off position. When this happens I cannot get them off.

Answer
Since the dealer spend hours trying to figure this out when they had the vehicle in their possession it's going to be a little difficult for me to diagnose this. But from what you are telling me what the symptoms are I can only give you a best guess based on past experience with erratic behaviour of the electrical system such as this. This model, like many later model toyotas uses a body control computer(body ECU) which controls just about everything that is related to the electrical system except for engine/transmission control, from the sunroof to the interior light to the daytime running lights, the instruments and so on. If nothing else can be found then I would suspect that the ECU may be the problem and by the way, it's an '06, isn't it still under warranty? If it has less than 36,000 miles it should still be covered for this.
