Toyota Repair: A/C plus some Electrical Issues, magnetic clutch, door switches

Question
Hi - Just purchased a '92 Camry LE (4cyl. auto), and the A/C doesn't work.  Compressor kicks in for a couple seconds, then stops and the light on the A/C button starts flashing.  I've checked the coolant pressure, and it shows good on the gauge I've got (Wal-mart special), so I'm wondering what the flashing light means?

Also, cruise control doesn't work, when you push the button nothing happens - plus neither passenger side window will go down (power windows), drivers side both work fine?  Any suggestions where to start?

Answer
Hi,

My first thought is that the magnetic clutch relay for the AC compressor is faulty. If I remember right, they're around $70.

Sounds like you have some common problems with the camry in regard to cruise control and power windows. The cruise control problem is most likely the cruise control unit under the hood. The electric motors in your power window units could be bad. If they won't roll down from either the door switches or the master switch, remove the door panels and check the window mechanism.
