Toyota Repair: rod berring, rod bearing, rod bearings

I have a 96 toyota camry.  Oil light been on for a while, Car is knocking. Sounfs like a rod bearing.   Is it easy to change rod bearing or is the car toast??

If the rod is making noise then the crankshaft is probably gone as well, the oil pan can be removed for inspection of the rod bearings, this engine may need to be rebuilt, depending on how bad the crankshaft is damaged, it may be better to look for another engine, there should be good used engines available at salvage yards, that's the cheapest way or you can check what a remanufactured short block costs from an independent engine supplier.
