Toyota Repair: 1987 Camry A/C, freon, camry

Question
The a/c is cold, but the button's a/c light starts blinking after about 5 seconds when pushed.  The compressor stops at the same time.  I noticed a question exactly with exactly the same symptoms, but everything in your answer has been checked out (freon level and pressure on both high and low sides are good).  Any idea as to where I should go from here?

The compressor has a revolution sensor on it, they used to fail on a regular basis back then, the problem may be parts availability since this is a dealer only item, you may end up having to replace the entire compressor with a remanufactured or used one.
