Toyota Repair: 1992 4runner, fuel pressure regulator, air flow meter

Question
1992 4runner with 3.0 - starts OK runs a bit rough. Absolutely no power. Can't get out of it’s own way. Have checked the air flow meter (MAS) and wiring to ECM with VOM. All readings OK. Checked injectors; OK.   Exhaust system is clear. It runs rough with no load up till about 4000rpm, seems to clear & then revs out. All timing components have been checked. It will occasionally backfire through the intake. The fuel pressure regulator is clicking. Any  suggestions

Answer
Check EGR valve with vacuum pump, check vacuum hoses, and components. See a repair manual for testing. Make sure plugs aren't loose, loss of compression. Check intake manifold for leaks. Is the check engine
light on? Go to a auto parts store and have them hook up a scanner
to the ECM to see if any codes.

Good luck,
let me know what you find out.
