Toyota Repair: Cruise Control, autoparts store, toyota camry

I drive a 1999 model toyota camry csx, the problem is that when i engage the cruise control the cruise control light starts blinking and it does not engage. can you pls. tell me how to fix this problem

The light is blinking because the cruise control has a malfunction stored in the computer which you will need to have diagnosed, this is done by connecting a diagnostic scantool to see what the trouble codes are, a toyota dealer can help with this or you can see if the local autoparts store has a free diagnostic retreival program, they will tell you what the codes are, hopefully in writing, once we know the codes I can try to help.
