Toyota Repair: 98 Camry V6 Overheating, coolant temperature switch, upper radiator hose

Question
My 98 camry v6 is overheating. I changed the thermostat and the radiator cap. I noticed that the cooling fans only come on when the a/c is turned on. The upper radiator hose gets very hot and the temperature goes all the way up to the H mark. I tried to do a continuity check on the engine coolant temperature switch, but I only saw one pin in the switch. Any suggestions you may have will be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Hi Raj,
I need more information. How many miles on the car?
What part of the country do you live in? (I need to know the
abeient temp, northern cold winter states are rougher on radiators).
Is the lower hose cold or warm? Is it worse at idle or highway speeds?
At idle let the car warm up completely and watch the engine temp and fans, if the fans aren't coming on with A/C off then you need to check fan fuses and relays. You say the fans come on with A/C,
that means the fans work. Very important ro check all fuses, not just the A/C fuses on car under hood and under dash.

Good luck,
let me know either way.
I can always look at he schematics.
