Toyota Repair: 2002 Toyota Camry Sportivo, toyota camry sportivo, 2002 toyota camry

Question
I have a 2002 Toyota Camry Sportivo and have recently been told the ABS actuator needs replacing. The car has done only 90,000kms (55,920 miles) and has never been driven hard or towed anything. I find it hard to believe that a reliable car like a Toyota could have such a potentially expensive part fail so soon. The only indication that something is wrong is the ABS dashlight lights up every time the car is driven. Otherwise everything is A-ok.

Answer
Elizabeth,
Never heard of a Sportivo, what is that? Only am familier with
CE,DX,LE,XLE,or SE Camrys. I don't understand why that would go bad
either, what kind of shop told you that? Usually when the ABS light
comes on its just a bad, dirty, or disconnected wire at one of the
senors by the wheels. Did the shop hook up a good high tech scanner
Mac or Snap-on) to the PCM?
The latest and greatest high quality scanners will have the
software to pinpoint the issue. Get a second opinion.
