Toyota Repair: 93 toyota camry starts but then stops, intake hoses, airflow meter

Question
Hi Ted i have a 93 camry vienta 3l v6 auto. For a while the car would just be driving normaly then all of a sudden it would just cut out, sometimes if you were going faster than 100 it would start back up but most of the time you had to roll to a stop then try to start it again. At times you could start it straight away but at other times you could sit on the side of the road for 20 mins. It has now got to the stage where as soon as it starts it will only run for about 4 seconds then stop. Any help would be great as my local mechanic has no idea.

Answer
Most of the start up and then stalling problems are due to a large air intake leak, unless already checked, check the air intake hoses for any cracks or loose connections, also make sure the airflow meter connector is connected on, remove the top of the air filter and check to see that the air door in the meter can be moved all the way and is not stuck open.
