Toyota Repair: 93 Camry viability, cv axles, camrys

Question
I was hit passenger front, the bumper is shot, headlight and blinker broken, hood bent, apparently no damage to frame. This great 93 Camry has 241K miles, had new trans. at 170K, also new timing belt about same time. My preliminary pricing shows about $2100-2400 cost to repair, for which the insurance will total my car out. I am still driving it, it runs great. Is this worth putting the repair money into? I sure thank you for your time and expertise.

Answer
Hi Trude,
I don't think this is a good option. Even though Camrys are great
cars it just not worth putting that kind of money into a car that old
with that many miles. I purchase, work on, have a body shop, and sell Camrys and Corollas only. I don't know what part of the country you live in but you should be able to purchase a 92-94 Camry with a lot less miles on it for $2000 to $3000. That would be a much better option. With that many miles there could be other issues in the near future, has your car had struts, cv axles, A/C, radiator replaced?   Those are typical things that need repair on that vehicle.
The other option is to find a friend or relative that can replace
a few parts like the bumper cover, headlight, hood(that is easy).
You can acquire this items from a junk yard or new after market parts
very reasonable.

Good luck.
