Land Rover Repair: discovery II fault code p1590, obd ii scan tool, engine management system

Question
I've driven this car for 2 years with the tc,abs &hd lights on & no fault code. It started as intermittent & about a year ago constant on. Then this week it sent a fault code of P1590. It says the abs light is on. TC & ABS seem to work fine as I've tested them.

Answer
If the ABS were fine, the light would be off.  Not all ABS faults are apparent in a simple "slam the brakes on" function test.  You'll need to find a shop with the specialized LR Test gear to read the ABS faults, and then decide what to do when you know what the issue is.

The code you cite from the engine management system does not tell you anything except that the ABS issue is active and continuing

Faults for the ABS, airbag system, climate control and engine are all stored in different computers.  The only one that talks to a generic OBD II scan tool is the engine.  So the fact that you didn't see any codes does not mean there were no codes there; it simply means you did not have the correct tool to extract them.
