Toyota Repair: 4AGE Knock sensor wire, knock sensor, radio shack

Question
Hi. I have a 1994 Toyota 4age 20 valve (jap import) and I accidently cut the knock sensor wire.  I cut it about 2 inches from the knock sensor before the shielding.  I managed to put the pin from the pigtail back on the shortened wire and into the plastic plug case. Now I am getting a code 52.  If I clear the code, start the engine and there is no check engine light, give it  a rev and back on comes the light.  Do I need to replace the wire back to the computer and if so where would I get one. Looms for these are not just lying around.  Thanks for any assistance you may be able to give.

Answer
You don't have to replace the wire to the computer, it sounds like that there is still not a good connection between where the wire was cut and the sensor. Make ssure only the center wire is connected to the knock sensor and no part of the shield is touching it, solder the connection together rather than using a crimp type splice, in case you want to replace the entire wire go to any electronics store or Radio Shack and get some shielded wire of the same diameter.
