Tips on Buying Cars: Mustang GT 2007 / Buyed 2010 in Germany, used, car

Question
Dear Sir,
i have a big problem. I´m a mustang GT 2007 owner from bergisch gladbach near cologne in germany. Maybe you can help me. In March 2010 I bought a used black Ford Mustang GT from a german US car trader in düsseldorf. The car looked fine and everyhing looks ok. The Car Fax Report was withouth any negativ entrys. I bought the car and after a while a friend of mine told me that the car is complety new coated an that someone worked on the car body. We looked for more details and found also some glas parts in the engine bay. The exhaust mufflers are also not original Ford. They looked like original but I was at that time not an mustang expert. They are cheap Jegs mufflers who look like original I found out. There are a few other curios things but I don´t want to bother you.
So, the complete contract is going with the help of my lawyer in the next months to the german court of justice because the trader told me that my car has no accidents, vandalism damages or defects from heavy weather conditions. He denies also the new coating although it is to seen with a well trained eye. The coating thickness is also to measure. Its more than double of a standard coating.
My VIN is: 1ZVFT82H075202253
The car was sold in the states reported by carfax via an auction in florida. But there are no more informations for me available. It would help me a lot to find out in what conditions the car was before selling. From my experience today and  informations from other mustang owners in germany who told me that often damaged cars are offered via auctions im very unhappy with this situation. I´m sure that my german us car trader is lying.
Can you help me as a car specialist in the united states?? What can I do to find out what the condition of my car was at sale on the auction?
If I would find the last owner before selling I could ask him for that. But in germany I have no possibilitys to get this informations. On carfax or autocheck are no detail informations.
It would be great if you could help me!!!!
Thank you very much for your time!!!

Yours sincerely

Answer
Hi Mario,

Firstly let me say I was associated with Ford for years and back in 1987 when my son turned 16 I bought in FL a mint          66 Mustang for his birthday, he still to this day treasure his " stang " and only takes it out on sunny Sundays,,, lol

After reading your post I want to be on your side but I honestly think you may not have a case unless you can prove misrepresentation on the sellers part.

Am I reading your post correctly to assume the seller imported this car and sold to you with a clean history report provided by carfax ? and you then found vehicle had been painted and may have been in an accident ?,,, if history shows a clean report and car has been in an accident there are only two possible answers,,, a washed title or accident repair with no Insurance claim reported. You may want to read this link on my website to get a better understanding about washed title and how to check for accident repair. http://www.usedcartips.org/ACCID.html

Before I can go further with this, can you send me a copy of history report from carfax or autoCheck ? to  paulsenray@yahoo.com
