Toyota Repair: 1994 Toyota 4 runner, egr valve, toyota 4 runner

Question
Ireplaced the EGR valve, the EGR valve modulator and the EGR temp sensor. After 70 miles of driving the engine check light still came on. A check code of 71 still appears. what do you suggest?

Possibly the EGR passage in the intake manifold is clogged and not letting enough exhaust gas circulate back into the intake system, remove the egr valve and the throttle body and check to see if the opening in the intake chamber behind the throttle body is not clogged up with carbon, air has to pass through from the egr valve over into the intake opening.
