Toyota Repair: 1986 Toyota pickup 22R Engine, head gasket, freeze plugs

Question
I recently changed the head gasket and noticed I no longer had compression on any of the 4 cylinders.  Even with the rocker carriage removed the engine can be rotated very easily.  I verified the cylinders are moving through the #1 spark plug hole.  All freeze plugs are in place.  The timing chain is definately connected to the crankshaft.  I put my finger over the #1 spark plug hole and as my son turned over the engine no compression was present.  Please help!!!

Answer
The most common cause for this after head removal is that the engine and cam timing were not correct, it's possible that the crankshaft timing was 180 degrees off and not at #1 TDC when reassembled and timed to the camshaft, if this was so then the valves will contact the cylinder and bend when the engine is turned over, I would recommend removing the head again and checking for bent valves.
