Toyota Repair: 1988 Corrolla- Rear Passenger Door Inoperable, interior door panel, phillips screws

Hello Ted, I have a 1988 Toyota Corolla LE 4dr sedan. The right rear passenger door will no longer open from the inside or the outside. How do I get the door open so I can remove the interior door panel and repair or replace the door mechanism.

There is no easy way to do this, remove the trim pieces inbetween the doors and remove the bottom door sill plate piece, remove the phillips screws in the armrest and remove the inner door handle trim and pull the door panel off, it may help to remove the seat bottom part it just pulls up, this will give more room to work with.
