Toyota Repair: Heater Blower Control Switch, phillips screws, control levers

Question

I have a defective heater blower switch. It is stuck in the high position. I have a new switch to replace the old one.

How do I get to it? Alldata says i can go in from the front....per a mech that has the software. It will not come out this way. Can you help me with this project?

Thanks,
Tony

Answer
The control switch is attached to the heater/AC control panel, there are three control cables attached to the control panel which have to be removed under the dash, there are two on the left and one on the right side, the glove box has to be removed, the cables on the left can be disconnected from the control levers without taking anything else apart, once the cables are disconnected the control unit can be pulled out, there are a couple of phillips screws that have to be removed on the panel, once the control panel is out the fan control switch can be replaced.
