Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): leaking gas at primer bulb, briggs and statton, hp motor

what could be wrong when you have gas leaking at the primer bulb and why would there be oil at the carburator? the mower will start up and runs about 2 minutes then it dies. It is a Briggs and Statton 6 hp motor on an MTD lawnmower.  Any info would be appreciated.........Sincerely Anthony Lyons

If you have oil at the carb, one of two things has happened.  The mower has been tipped up incorrectly (should be spark plug up) or the oil level is way too high.  Fuel leaking at the primer bulb indicates the bulb should be replaced as they bulb has a gasket flange on it that may be leaking.  Hope this helps.
