Toyota Repair: check engine light, negative battery cable, toyota corolla

Question
QUESTION: My 2002 Toyota Corolla LE's (auto trans) check engine light is on.  Autozone's diagnostic says its either: (1) purge or vent solenoids defective; (2) check connector and wiring; (3) fuel saturated vapor canister; or (4) failed EVAP vent solenoid.  Any idea how I can find out which problem it is and how to fix it?  Thanks!

ANSWER: I need to know the trouble code numbers(DTCs).

QUESTION: Don't think I have that.  The diagnostic print-out reads:
"TROUBLESHOOTING P0446
"OEM Brand: OBDII
"The PCM has determined that a malfunction exists in the electrical
circuit for the vent control in the evaporative emisssion control system.
"TROUBLESHOOTING P0446
"OEM Brand: Domestic"
It then gives the info mentioned in my previous question.
Hope this help.

Answer
The PO446 code indicates a leak in the fuel vapor recovery system(evap system) a lot of times this can be caused by either a loose or missing gas cap, or a gas cap that is leaking, if the gas cap is on tight try replacing it then open the hood and disconnect the negative battery cable for ten seconds then reconnect it and see if the light turns back on in a few days then let me know if the same code came back.
