Toyota Repair: Exhaust leak, exhaust gaskets, model toyota

Question
QUESTION: Exhaust had slight leak where the exhaust pipe connects to the exhaust manifold. I first replaced the exhaust gaskets (2).I heard it leak again within a mile after test driving away. I then retorqued it (3)nuts and noise came right back. Noticeable mainly when accelerating. Since then, I have replaced exhaust gaskets, studs, from aftermarket to OEM stuff and the noise is still there. Checked for warped surfaces, and seems good. I know that it is coming from there, because I put High temp sealant around the top and bottom of gaskets and it is real quiet for a short time then it returns after the sealant burns away. Any suggestions?

ANSWER: I can probably help but the most important information is missing, what year/model toyota is it, how many miles, what engine does it have?

QUESTION: Sorry, Can't believe you couldn't read my mind (ha ha)
1989 Toyota PU. 22RE engine with 200,000 miles. Runs great and uses no oil. Periodic timing chain rattle a few seconds after starting only when the oil has thinned out. I add Lucas oil conditioner which lessens the chain rattle from the tensioner not doing it's job because of the miles on the engine.

Answer
Not sure what the problem is, it seems that the bottom of the exhaust manifold is not exactly matching up with the front pipe or the pipe doesn't get tightened enough to seal the gaskets completely. Make sure that both of the old gaskets have been removed from the pipe and the manifold.
